Jöelle joyas en TheWayWeLive y Labshop!

En el mes de Junio estuvimos participando en el The Way We Live, en Gijón, una feria donde hubo de todo, desde charlas, desfiles impresionantes como los de Amaya Arzuaga, Josechu Santana, Ilkadora, Maria Lafuente, Cristina Pascual, Carlos Silveira,..., talleres, y showroom de jovenes diseñadores y marcas independientes, aquí es donde Jöelle estuvo presente.

Last June we participated in “The Way We Live”, in Gijon, a fashion event with talks, great fashion shows of designers such as Amaya Arzuaga, Josechu Santana, Ilkadora, Maria Lafuente, Cristina Pascual, Carlos Silveira,…, workshops and a young designers showroom, where Jöelle participated.

Este fin de semana pasado estuvimos participando en el Labshop, pero en una edición especial, la romeria del labshop!

This last weekend we participated in Labshop, but in a special edition of it: the Labshop garden party!

Este fin de semana pasado teníamos una cita con el LABshop!

This last weekend we had a date with LABshop!

Un fin de semana rodeados de gente creativa, caras conocidas, nuevas...un fin de semana que nos encanta, en un marco incomparable como es la Laboral, centro de arte y creación industrial.

A weekend surrounded by creative people, new and familiar faces...a weekend which we really enjoy, in a spectacular place such as Laboral, an art and industrial creation centre

Así que aprovechamos para presentaros la nueva colección en la que estamos trabajando, Geometrik, una colección muy diferente de lo que habíamos hecho hasta ahora
It was a good time too to show our new collection, called Geometrik, a very different collection from what we had previously done.

jugando con diferentes texturas en el metal...

Escapada a Tanda.

Short trip to Tanda.

 Tanda es una aldea situada en el Parque Natural de Ponga, al ladito del Parque de Picos de Europa, un lugar con unas vistas únicas.
Tanda is a small village located in “The Ponga Natural Park” very close to the “Picos de Europa National Park”, a place with unique views.

 Llevamos un tiempo pensando en pasear por algún lugar donde recrear la vista, parar a pensar, recoger ideas, pues en la naturaleza hay tantas ideas tangibles, dejarse llevar y despejar la mente del trabajo rutinario.

For a while, we had been thinking about going hiking and relaxing, recharging our spirits and collecting ideas, because of the inspiration one can find in nature and the possibility of disconnecting from the daily routine.

Hicimos una parada en la Fonda de Ponga donde comimos unas ricas fabes o sopa calentita, y demás delicias para templar el cuerpo cuyas propiedades son casi imprescindibles en días de frío invierno, una recompensa agradable, comer como en casa "de la abuela"

We stopped at the “Fonda de Ponga” a restaurant where we enjoyed some hot soup and typical dishes such as “fabada” amongst other delights, to rest and recover. A nice treat, eating like at grandma’s.

Despejado el cielo un rato, el sol nos animaba a dar un paseo por el pueblo y sus rincones, al ritmo entrecortado por la lenta digestión, la emoción de respirar cada brizna de campo, la paz del lugar y el placentero calorcito de las botas .

With a clear sky, the sun encouraged us to walk around the village and discover its corners, at our own pace, marked by the slow digestion, the uniqueness and peace of the place and enjoying some warm boots. 

Cada paso era un descubrimiento, semillas, frutos, distintos tipos de hojas y colores...recogimos unas pocas, y he aquí el principio, la idea de nuestras primeras colecciones basadas en la naturaleza.

Every step was a discovery, seeds, fruits, different types of leaves and colours…we picked up a few things and here is the beginning, the idea for our next collections based on nature.

Hablando de broches, los hay de mil maneras, formas y colores , nunca pierden su elegancia con el tiempo y siempre dan un toque muy personal.

 

Talking about brooches, there are a lot, with different shapes and colours, which never lose its elegance and give a very personal touch

Su construcción empieza con la piedra, que nos dará la proporción y la forma en la que se adaptará el metal, un topacio azul será el centro de esta flor donde las texturas y el calado enriquecen este sencillo diseño.

Its construccion begin with the precious stone, which will give us the proportion and shape for the metal, in this case, a blue topaz will be the centre of the flower where different textures and shapes enrich this simple design

Boquilla para la piedra en talla Oval

Se conforman los pétalos y se sueldan, dejando el espacio ajustado para la boquilla

Petals are then welded, leaving the exact space needed for the stone holder

Y una vez montadas ambas piezas, se les añade los sistemas para el broche, se le da el acabado y por último se engasta.

And, once the pieces are assembled, the brooch closing is added, the stone is mounted and the piece is polished and finished

El anillo que rueda

The spinning ring

El anillo que rueda, anillo anti estrés...este anillo es un modelo muy antiguo que ya apenas se fabrica a mano, sino mecanizado, lo que quiere decir que en su fabricación se le hace o incorpora sistemas internos variados para que giren los anillos centrales.

The spinning ring, or the anti-stress ring…is an antique model which is now mostly mechanised, not handmade, the ring has got inside systems which allow the central parts of the ring to move

Lo increíble de este anillo es que en su construcción manual nada tiene que envidiar a piezas de elaborada construcción, pese a su simpleza, llegar a que se produzca el giro perfecto como si de una construcción mecánica se tratase es sumamente difícil.

The most amazing thing about this ring is that even its apparent simplicity it is very difficult to get the different parts of the ring moving.

primero llevamos el anillo a la medida y soldamos con una soldadura fuerte

First, we made the right size ring, welding both parts

then we polish and scrape

Se realizan las demás piezas, el anillo central que va a girar, las tapas de los laterales que iran ajustadas a la perfección y soldadas
Then the rest of the pieces are made, the central ring and the laterals which will also be welded

Lo más importante de este trabajo es tener todo muy bien preparado, lijado y ajustado, para que no se nos case , ( cuando se calienta demasiado las soldaduras fluyen y pueden alcanzar partes que no queremos)  si así fuese perderíamos todo el trabajo por lijar mal una soldadura o haberla utilizado en abundancia.

The most important thing about this process is to have everything ready and polished so that we don’t have any problems with the welding

.....ya pueden rodar después de tanto trabajo!

And, after all this work, here you have the spinning rings!
